How It Works
My Temp Mail runs entirely on Cloudflare's global edge network. When you generate an address, the system creates a live mailbox on one of our owned domains. Your browser connects to our API via Server-Sent Events (SSE) — a persistent, one-way stream that pushes new messages to you the moment they arrive, with zero polling.
Edge-hosted infrastructure
Your inbox is served from the Cloudflare PoP closest to you — typically under 30ms latency worldwide.
Real-time via SSE
Emails are pushed to your browser instantly using Server-Sent Events. No refresh needed.
Auto-expiry
Each inbox expires after its timer runs out. All messages are permanently deleted — not archived, not sold.
Cross-tab sync
Open multiple tabs? A leader election algorithm ensures only one SSE connection is active, keeping things efficient.

Using the Inbox
Generating an address
Click the Generate button on the homepage. You'll get a random address instantly. To customise it, type your preferred username in the name field before generating, and select a domain from the dropdown.
Receiving emails
Share your temp address wherever an email is required. New messages appear in your inbox automatically — no refresh needed. OTPs and verification links typically arrive within 5–15 seconds of being sent.
Reading a message
Click any message in the inbox list to open it. Both plain text and HTML emails are supported. Attachments are not stored for security reasons.
Extending or changing your address
You can generate a brand-new address at any time. Your old address stops receiving mail as soon as it expires. There is currently no option to extend an existing inbox — generate a fresh one if you need more time.
Privacy & Security
My Temp Mail is built on a privacy-first architecture. Here is what that means in practice:
- No user accounts — we have nothing to link messages to a person.
- No cookies used for tracking or analytics.
- No message content is stored after inbox expiry.
- No IP addresses logged against email activity.
- No third-party ad networks or tracking scripts.
- HTTPS enforced on all connections. HSTS enabled.
- Cloudflare handles TLS termination — industry-standard encryption.
